Mary Kathleen "Kay" Kennedy

Plattsburgh Mrs. Mary Kathleen "Kay" Kennedy, 75, of Pine Street in Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 at her home in the company of her family, under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Bombay, N.Y. on October 4, 1935, the daughter of Vincent and Edwina (French) Reardon. Mary graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing in Watertown and was a Registered Nurse at Physicians Hospital, Sacred Heart Nursing Home and was later employed as a public health nurse for the Clinton County Health Department retiring in 2000. She is survived by a daughter and son in law; Kelly and Chris Clukey of Plattsburgh, four sons and a daughter in law; Kevin and Melissa Kennedy of Bombay, N.Y., Patrick Kennedy of Plattsburgh, Sean Kennedy of Massena, Darrin Kennedy of Plattsburgh, two sisters and seven brothers and their spouses; Rose Reardon of Bombay, Alfred and Carol Ann Bordeau of Moriah, John and Beatrice Reardon of Bombay, Philip "Bill" and Marga Reardon of Bombay, David and Carol Reardon of Bombay, Donald and Sandra Reardon of Oswego, James Reardon of Bombay, Gary "Rob" Reardon of Bombay, Daniel and Mary Reardon of Vermontville, a granddaughter; Alivia Kennedy, 3 step grandchildren; Tara (Clukey) Barrows, Chris Clukey, Jr., and Tyler Hewitt, 3 step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased on September 23, 1992 by her husband Matthew W. Kennedy whom she married July 18, 1959 in Bombay. She was also predeceased by her parents Vincent in 1989 and Edwina in 1995, a sister Patricia Smith in 1974 and a brother Timothy Reardon in 1986. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 9, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from St. John's Church. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
