Plattsburgh Mary A. Mashtare, 85, of Bushey Blvd., Plattsburgh, NY and formerly of Flynn Ave, passed away on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home. She was born in New Albany, IN on September 29, 1927 the daughter of John and Catherine (Black) Nance. Mary met her husband Samuel Mashtare while he was stationed at Fort Knox, KY in the U. S. Army. They were married on August 8, 1953 in Louisville, KY. She was a stay at home mother, raising their seven children. Mary was predeceased by her husband, a daughter Barbara Hoover and six siblings. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Norman (Barbara) Hoover of Mooers, Clayton (Carol) Hoover, Sr. of Plattsburgh, Diane Boyd of Cadyville, Carolyn Hemingway of Morrisonville, Warren Mashtare of Champlain, Kirk (Kam) Mashtare of Morrisonville, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 21, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
