Mary Lou Parish, 88, of Erin Avenue, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Friday July 24, 2020 at UVHN: CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Logansport, Indiana on March 1, 1932 the daughter of Ernest and Mary Horn. Mary Lou graduated from Grass Creek High School in 1950. She went on to attain her R.N. training at Home Hospital in LaFayette, Indiana. Mary Lou married John “Jack” Parish on July 29, 1954 and moved to Great Falls, Montana, where she was an R.N. at Deaconess Hospital for three years. They returned to Royal Center, Indiana and she worked as an R.N. at Memorial Hospital in Logansport, Indiana for 11 years. They then moved to Fairfield, California where she received her teaching certificate through the University of California. Mary Lou then taught nursing in the Fairfield School District for two years. When her husband Jack was transferred to Plattsburgh, New York with the United States Air Force she began working at CVPH Medical Center for 21 ½ years as an R.N. and P.C.C. She retired from CVPH in 1996, but continued working for 10 years with Hospice of the North Country as an R.N. in end of life care.

> Mary Lou is survived by her sons; John Parish and his wife Jamie of Arizona and Bradley Parish of Plattsburgh.
> Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 20, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 in the Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be at Everest Memorial Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
