Maurice A Lafountain

Maurice A. LaFountain, 82, of Plattsburgh passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his home. He was born in Champlain, New York on July 23, 1939 the son of Albert A. and Rose (Duquette) Lafountaine.

Maurice attended St. Mary’s School in Champlain and went on to work in Environmental Services at Champlain Valley Physician’s Hospital for 37 ½ years. He enjoyed visiting family in Virginia, Maryland, Florida, playing any games that children or grandchildren played as well as touring NYC and seeing shows. He also enjoyed telling corny jokes and passing on one he had heard.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Peck) LaFountain, his children, Lisa (Alan) Jodoin and Brian (Christine) LaFountain, grandchildren, Chad Jodoin, Shanae Jodion, Brandon LaFountain, and Susan LaFountain, brother-in-laws, Norman Rock, Germain Suprenant, Gary Peck, Eric (Carolyn) Peck.

Maurice was predeceased by his parents, and two sisters, Rita Rock and Maria Suprenant.

Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. A Funeral service will follow in Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
