Plattsburgh Mrs. Maybelle M. Favero, 80, of Stafford Road in Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at her home with family by her side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh on July 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Edward and Addie (Trudeau) Desautels. Maybelle was employed as a NYS Certified Home Health Aide at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home for 17 years and was also a CNA. She also assisted her husband Arlen at the Onchiota Post Office as Postmaster Relief. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court 479. She was a catechism teacher at Beekmantown Central School and also in Bloomingdale. One of her passions was collecting Pillsbury Dough Boys. One of her callings was working with the elderly. She loved to hunt and fish. Maybelle was a wonderful wife, mother, best friend, homemaker, sister and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Arlen J. Favero, Sr., her children and their spouses; Francis and Carol Favero of Watertown, Johnny and Patricia Favero of Virginia Beach, Va., Julie and Russell Sumpter of Montgomery, Al., Sarah and Bill Hay of Virginia, Catherine Blackbird of Athol, Ma., Arlen and Sandra Favero Jr. of Rincon, Ga., David Favero of Plattsburgh, her siblings; Addie Torrance of Peru, Irene Proulx of Plattsburgh, Napolean Desautels of Florida, her grandchildren; Josh and Nicole Sumpter, Kevin and Wendy Favero, Matthew and Jennifer Hay, five great grandchildren; Ashley D. Favero, Krisxan J. Favero and Griffin G. Favero, Dalen Sumpter and Caleigh Sumpter, a God daughter; Stella Torrance, several nieces and nephews and her canine companion Charlie. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Stanley and Alfred Desautels, a sister, Theresa Desautels, and her brothers in law Clifton Torrance and Francis Prue. In accordance with Maybelle's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Hospice of the North Country. Plattsburgh Favero- A Mass of Christian Burial for Maybelle M. Favero, 80, who passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 was celebrated on Tuesday, July 01, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church. The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Patrick Mundy, retired. The musician was Perry Provost. The Altar server was Veronica Matott. The Crucifix was placed by her son Francis Favero and Rosary was placed by her daughter Julie Sumpter. The readers were Julie Sumpter and Ann Bilow. The offertory gifts were presented by son Arlen Favero Jr and Catherine Blackbird. Words of Remembrance were shared by Ann Bilow. The pall bearers were sons David Favero, Arlen Favero Jr. and Francis Favero and son in law Russell Sumpter. Members of the St. Peter's Altar-Rosary Society and Knights of Columbus Council 255 formed honor guards. Interment followed in the parish cemetery where Rev. Mundy read committal prayers.
