Mervin Lagrave

Mervin LaGrave, 68, of Recore Road, West Chazy, NY, passed away on Saturday November 18, 2017 at his home with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Minerva, NY on May 21, 1949 the son of William and Elizabeth "Bertha" (Perham) LaGrave. Mervin worked at SUNY Plattsburgh for 30 years, retiring in 2009. He also drove bus for Mount Assumption Institute, Seton Catholic, Flack Tours, CART and Golden Arrow. Mervin loved spending all of his time with his family and loved ones, the more the better he would say. He loved camping, music and helping others. Mervin was always the life of the party and will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his parents, his twin brother Marvin, two sisters; Luella and Lillian, two half-brothers; Alvin and Edward and two son-in-laws; Michael Baker and Timothy Martineau. Mervin is survived by his wife of 46 years; Diana LaGrave, his children; Rachel LaGrave Baker and her fiancé, O'Neil Archer, Dana (LaGrave) Daniels and her husband Justin, Tina Martineau and her significant other Chris Bilyeu, Mervin, Jr., Lynford Hoague and his wife Dore, Daniel Phaneuf and his wife Susan, twelve grandchildren; Austin, Rebecca, Isabella, Gabriel, Adonijah, Nevaeh, Shawn, Chelsie, Sabrina, Ethan and his spouse Brittany, Kimberly and her spouse Dylan, Brady, Alyzah, Laylah, Kimberly and Drayke, four great grandchildren; Shane, Carson, Linzy and Nicholas, several nieces and nephews also survive him. In lieu of flowers donations in Mervin's memory may be made to Diana LaGrave or Hospice of the North Country. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 22, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy.
