Michael N Tarasavage

Plattsburgh Michael N. Tarasavage, 77, of South Catherine Street and formerly of South Peru Street, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Thursday October 16, 2014 at his home with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Malone, NY on December 25, 1936 the son of Anthony "Polink" and Lillian (Gougeon) Tarasavage. Michael graduated from Lyon Mountain High School in 1955. He married Ann Myette on June 30, 1956 at St. Peter's in Plattsburgh. Mike then went on to Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science, graduating in 1957. He worked as a Funeral Director for Fairchild Sons Funeral Home in New York City and Long Island for over a decade. Mike then went on to become a Sand Hog with the Laborers Local # 147 in New York City. He worked on constructions projects like the New York City Water Tunnel, Subway Tunnel and Mount Hope Mines. Mike worked for several companies in the north country before retiring in 2012. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his cat Lucky. Mike was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Vonga Tarasavage, his in laws; Flora and Frank Myette and a son in law Jim Stebens. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Tarasavage of Plattsburgh, five children; Jane Stebens of Riverview, FL, Carla Pavone of Baja, Mexico, Michael Tarasavage and his wife Julie of Plattsburgh, Toni Ann Toumey and her husband Sam of Albany, GA and Joe Tarasavage and his wife Kathy of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren and their spouses; Tara (Sean) Coleman, Christopher (Yern Yoon) Pavone, Jennifer (Aaron Sewell) Pavone, Nikki (Richie) DeTulleo, Dylan (Danielle) Martin and Taylor (Tiffany) Tarasavage, seven great grandchildren; Hayley, Ian, Izzy, Brayden, Ethan, Mobius and Kelsey. Calling hours will be held on Sunday October 19, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home and on Monday October 20, 2014 from 11:00 to 1:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
