Mildred Dominy

Ellenburg Mildred Dominy, 95 of Ellenburg, NY peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 14th, 2014, in her home, at Pine Harbour Assisted Living, Plattsburgh, NY. Mildred was born in Ellenburg, NY on June 4th, 1919; she was the only child of Ada and Luke McCoy. She was married to Roy Dominy of Ellenburg in The United Methodist Church of Ellenburg. He predeceased her on March 22nd, 1965. Mildred worked at and retired from SUNY Plattsburgh as a math professor. She spoke both English and French. Her greatest love and joy were family, community involvement, her education, compassion for animals and reading romance novels. She served in the past as the Grand Chaplin of Eastern Star, Chapter 653 of Ellenburg Center and as President of the Rural Preservation Company in Saranac, NY. She also served as President for the Ellenburg, Senior Housing Program. Mildred is survived by her Pine Harbour family and will be sorely missed. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot. In lieu of flowers, donations, in her memory, may be made to Pine Harbour Assisted Living, to go towards the Peace of Mind Subsidy Fund.
