Nancy Jean Gohlke

Willsboro Nancy Jean Gohlke, 67, wife of Harold Robert Gohlke of Willsboro and formerly of Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017. Born in Plattsburgh June 3, 1949 to Edward H. and Mary E. Durocher, Nancy attended Our Lady of Victory Academy and later worked at her family's business, Durocher Auto Sales, for many years. She and Harold raised a large family together. Nancy enjoyed working in the garden with her husband, and she was a talented seamstress, knitter, and crafter, as well as an avid reader. She also enjoyed antique shopping and long drives. Nancy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harold R. Gohlke, and their children: Kimberly (Chad) Recore of Peru, Kristina Gohlke of Raleigh, NC; Keri (Frank) Denchick of Peru, Karla Lyon (Joseph Hayes) of Plattsburgh, Matthew (Amanda) Gohlke of Plattsburgh, Kody Gohlke of Plattsburgh, Korissa Gohlke (Carl Cacciotti) of Brunswick, NY; Herrik Gohlke of Plattsburgh, and her canine companion, Gabby Gohlke of Willsboro. Nancy and Harold always had a full house, also fostering many children in Clinton County over the years. Nancy was fondly known as "Grammy" to her grandchildren: Kelsey Burdo, Kaleb Gohlke, Kaitlyn Denchick, Karalyn Denchick, Kolbi Lyon, Kyler Lyon, Alec Coughlin, Wyatt Hayes, Hunter Hayes, Taylor Gohlke, Samantha Young, Brady Gohlke, and Darius Gohlke. Also surviving Nancy are her siblings: Douglas (Constance) Durocher, Lawrence (Erika) Durocher, Linda (Allen) Whitney, Beverly (Brian) LeCuyer, Michael Durocher, Susan (David) Gubbins, Bette Durocher (Dennis Smith), Dennis (Michele) Durocher, Robert (Mary) Durocher, and Thomas (Gina) Durocher; as well as her extended family: sister-in-law Sandy (Chuck) Potter of Marshall, TX, sister-in-law Patricia Gilman of Forest Park, GA; and brother-in-law Thomas Call of Elysian Fields, TX, in addition to many nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Edward H. and Mary E. Durocher; a sister, Patricia Durocher; mother-in-law Ida Vidock, brothers-in-law, Edward Vidock and Paul Vidock; sister-in-law Janice Vidock, sister-in-law Helen Call, sister-in-law Marion Carmichael; brother-in-law Roy Carmichael, and brother-in-law A.W. Gilman. Services will be private, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the University of Vermont Children's Hospital Pediatric Cancer Center or the Clinton County Dept. of Social Services Adoptions Unit.
