Nathalie Merrihew

Mrs. Nathalie Merrihew, 80, formerly of Ashley Road, West Chazy, New York and most recently of Lakeview Towers, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on January 8, 1928 the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Smart) LaValley. Nathalie enjoyed knitting, especially making sweaters for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed caring for her horses and raising other animals. She is survived by two sons, Donald James Merrihew and his wife Julia of Altona, NY and Brandon LaValley and his wife Nancy of Belmont, NY. Six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, one brother Jack LaValley of Plattsburgh, NY and a sister-in-law Geneva LaValley also of Plattsburgh, NY. Several Nieces and nephews also survive her. Nathalie was predeceased by her husband Donald Merrihew, a son Wayne Merrihew, a daughter-in-law Najya Merrihew and six brothers also predeceased her. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be later next year at St. Joseph Church Cemetery in West Chazy Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York.
