Nelson "Frank" J. Cody, 83, of LaPlante Road, West Chazy passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Winooski, VT on December 3, 1933 the son of Walter and Ginny Chamberlain. Nelson married Ruth LaDuke at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. He worked at Imperial Wallcovering in Plattsburgh for 43 years. Nelson was a member of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. He had a great love of music especially country music. Ruth and Nelson both played together for close to 60 year in numerous bands including Frank Cody and the Sundown Drifter and the RSVP Kitchen Band for many years at area events. Nelson was predeceased by his parents, a brother Louise Cody, a sister Mabel Crossley and a son-in-law Merrill Pelkey. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth, their children and their spouses Mickey Seymour (Lester), Bonnie Pelkey (Erwin), Ruth LaForest (Joe), Frank Cody and Karen Rabideau (Allen); Sisters Pearl Sorrell and Midge Lecuyer; a brother James Cody; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. At Nelson's request services will be at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens on the Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh.
