Nina J Coffin

Nina J. Coffin, 91, of Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 29, 1929, the daughter of John and Ruth (Vance) Gavrian.
Nina was active in donating her time, volunteering on the board for the ARC or the Special Olympics. She enjoyed reading, writing and music. Nina enjoyed cooking and looking through cookbooks to pick out recipes. Nina enjoyed traveling domestically and overseas throughout Europe. As a child her father was her hero. Family was most important to her and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Theresa Beyer, Carolyn Spivey, Thomas Coffin Jr., and Meg Wilkinson, grandchildren; Jason Guernsey, Rachel Brady, Jeremy Guernsey, Jeremy Coffin, Justus Wilkinson, Tamara Jones, and Tabitha Young, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Thomas, a daughter Elaine Coffin and her great-grandson Gavin D. Coffin.
Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Plattsburgh Memorial Chapel on US Oval. A funeral services will follow at 1:00pm. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be offered to the Special Olympics, the ARC, or American Cancer Society for Leukemia.
