Norma J Babbie

Norma Jane Babbie, 83, of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Champlain, New York, the daughter of Albert and Irene (Laventure) Duquette.

Norma Jane’s love in life was her family. Her parents and children meant everything to her. Jane, as she was known, had a penchant for clothing, particularly sweaters. She enjoyed reading romantic suspense novels, a daily cup of tea, and British television and movies.

Jane worked in the retail sector where she was in her element and where she thrived personally and professionally. Her knowledge of the product, ability to articulate that knowledge to any audience, and collegial and easy-going personality earned her the admiration of those who came into her orbit.

She is survived by her loving children, Wendy (Todd) Howard, Darren (Julie) Babbie, Lindsay (Jeannette) Babbie, and Cris (Vicki) Babbie; grandchildren Ashley (Cody) Lobdell, Michael Howard, Jordon (Kelly) Babbie, Cody Howard, Jeffery (Scout) Babbie, Allyzza Smith, Troy Burdick, Owen Babbie, Alise Babbie, and Sierra Babbie; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Irene Duquette.

There will be no public visitation. A private mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Champlain, New York. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Coopersville, New York.
