Norma A Luff

August 10, 1934 — April 28, 2019

Norma A. Luff, 84, of Club Road in Plattsburgh, NY peacefully went to heaven on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at her home with her children by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Kingston, PA on August 10, 1934, the daughter of Stanley and Janet (Karmilowicz) Elinsky.
Norma was a retired registered nurse from CVPH Medical Center and was part owner of Quilts-N-More. An active and selfless member of her community, Norma belonged to many organizations including; The Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, Community Board Member of Meadowbrook Health Care, served on the Board of Directors for the Senior Citizens Council, the Advisory Board for the Office for the Aging and the Dannemora Federal Credit Union. She was also a charter member of the Champlain Valley Quilters’ Guild and volunteered for the A.A.R.P. tax services program. Norma was an active member of the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church and volunteered on various committees. She loved flowers and gardening. Norma was happiest when surrounded by her loving family especially at Christmas. She loved traveling (domestic and international), going for Sunday rides and experienced great joy finding cardinals or Santa ornaments at gift shops.
She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband Robert G. Luff.
Norma is survived by her children: Debra Luff (H. Tilson), Janet Elliott, David Luff and Sandra Luff (R.Collins). Grandchildren: Daniel Elliott (Kara), Brian Elliott (Kassidy), Ryan, Robert and Jonathon Luff. Great Grandchildren: Theodore Elliott with another great grandson due to arrive at the end of May.
She was also survived by her brother Stanley (Susan) Elinsky and sister June (W. Peter) Martin and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 3rd from 2:00 to 3:00PM at the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh; a funeral service and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
