Plattsburgh Norma J. Rock, 81, of South Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, NY and most recently of Pine Harbor, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Sunday June 13, 2010 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Black Brook, NY on April 12, 1929, the daughter of Eugene and Evelyn (LaBarr) D'Avignon. Norma graduated from St. John's High School in 1946 and soon after married Lester M. Rock on September 18th of that year. She retired from AT&T as a customer service representative in 1982 after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Alexander's Church, the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 1619. Norma enjoyed cooking, baking, crafts, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends and will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband who passed away on April 22, 1969, two sisters Marian D'Avignon who passed away on February 3, 1935 and Doris LaBoy, who passed away on September 6, 1996. Norma is survived by three sons; Michael Rock and his wife Irene of Schuyler Falls, NY, John Rock and his fiancé Marilyn Begor of Morrisonville and Christopher "Hook" Rock and his fiancé Karen Curtin of Onchiota, NY and two daughters; Marsha Wilson and her husband William of Plattsburgh and Susan (Oogen) Klinefelter of Colchester, VT, six grandchildren; Steven Rock, Jeffrey Rock and his fiance Tracy McGrail, Shannon Lishak and her husband Greg, Ashley Rock and her companion Chris Akey, Angela Rock and Matthew Wilson, three great grandchildren; Tyler and Autumn Lishak and Wyatt Rock, a sister Lynda Stewart and her husband Jack of Plattsburgh, one aunt; Gladys Bergeron of North Troy, NY and a brother-in-law Leonard "Cheese" Rock of Morrisonville, NY, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. At Norma's request there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, NY. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow at the American Legion Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh to celebrate her life.
