Oliver A Stone

Plattsburgh Mr. Oliver A. "Stoney" Stone, Jr.71, of Flynn Ave. in Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on February 5, 1940, the son of Oliver and Rita (Connors) Stone, Sr. Oliver was a roofer for Pete Smith and later for Donny Phaneuf until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bingo. He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Duell) Stone, his children; Linda LaBarge and husband Jim, Donna Darrah and companion Greg Trombley, Joyce Van Weort and her husband Dave, Russell Stone and companion Pam King, a sister; Barbara Stone, two brothers; Randall Stone and his wife Rachael, Dick Stone and his wife Peggy, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His brother Robert Stone passed away earlier. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 4 to 6pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 6 pm in the Brown Funeral Home chapel. Memorial donations may be offered to the ALS Association.
