Plattsburgh Mrs. Ona R. Matulionis, 97, of Caroline Street, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Lithuania on September 6, 1911 the daughter of Julius and Ona (Liciute) Celiesius. Ona came to the United States in 1949 and was employed at Champlain Valley Hospital and retired from CVPH Medical Center as a lab technician in the blood bank in 1976. She loved her home and her flower garden. Ona enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Peter's Church. She was predeceased by her parents Julius and Ona Celiesius, her husband Anthony "Tony" Matulionis, a daughter Regina Moore, and her brothers Simon and Julius Celiesius. Ona is survived by a daughter; Eleonora Burton and her husband Joseph of Castleton, NY, four grandchildren; Lisa Moore-Sajedi and her husband Mohammad of Acton, MA, Rebecca Moore of Glens Falls, NY, Joseph A. Burton and his wife Julie of Sharon, MA, James R. Burton and his wife Tammy of Sagamore Hills, OH, six great grandchildren; Kaylie, Ian, Francesca, Gabriella, Andrew and Madeline a son-in-law Robert Moore of Queensbury, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends wishing may make donations to St. Peter's Church.
