Patience L Landry

September 17, 1959 — November 30, 2022

Patience Lynn “Pati” Landry passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was 63 years old. Heaven will gain an angel as Pati goes to eternal rest with her father Omer “Doc” St. Jacques, her mother Anna St. Jacques, and her son Brian Deforge.

Pati was born on September 17, 1959 in Glens Falls, New York, but spent most of her life in Plattsburgh. After graduating from Mount Assumption High, she obtained a nursing degree from Clinton Community College, and Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Plattsburgh State University. Pati served her country in the U.S. Army, and then embarked on a long and happy career as a beloved mathematics teacher in the Beekmantown Central school system. Pati was devoted to her students’ success, and together with her husband, John, established a scholarship in loving memory of her son Brian which helped send several of her promising former students to college.

Pati battled numerous health issues in recent years, which she faced with uncommon tenacity and grit, determined to beat those challenges. Pati persevered and never lost her incredible zest for life. She was a very giving person and was always willing to offer support to anyone in need, especially her family. She loved cooking and entertaining, cruising with John, her sisters and her friends, playing golf and pickleball, and spending her winters someplace warm. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Pati is survived by her husband John Landry; her sisters Princess Devlin (Peter), Pamela St. Jacques, Candace St. Jacques, Mary Saunders (Stephen); her brother Edward St. Jacques (Ellen); her soul sisters Tammie Champagne and Michelle Russell; her sons Bradford Deforge (Marcy), Robert Deforge (Maggie), and Ryan Landry (Carly); seven grandchildren – Finnley, Grady, Frankie, Brian Jr., and Alison Deforge, and Lyla and Lucas Landry. Pati was a special Nini to Avery, Ayden and Olyve Hooper. Pati is also survived by her loving Landry family – Esther Landry, Maurice and Judy Landry, Frank and Rose Burgess, James and Pat Landry, Helen Bubbins, Lester Ellis, Jean and Linda Schneider, Edward and Ann Landry, Andy and Sue Landry, Donald Landry, Barb Landry, Katherine Hendrix, and Robert and Barb Landry – and was predeceased by Charles Bubbins, Maryann Ellis, and Norman Landry.
