Patricia M Kanaly

Patricia M. Kanaly, 70, of Dannemora, died at her home Sunday, April 14, 2024 with her family by her side. Pat was under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born on June 15, 1953 and was the daughter of Thomas and Marie O'Connor. Pat was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling, singing to and listening to music, skiing and spending time on Chazy Lake. You could find Pat outside in her garden or walking her dog, Mandy, around Dannemora. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed any activity that allowed that. Pat never met a stranger, whether it was chatting with those she saw on her walks or the random skier she met on the lift. She loved playing board games, and spent countless hours around the table or outside playing with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She is survived by her husband, Scott, whom she married on January 20th, 1973. She is also survived by her daughters Shannon D'Abruzzo and her partner, Danny Townsend; Jill Demers and her husband Chris her grandchildren, Karina, Gia, Maria, Anna, Katie, Ryan and Jack; her brother Dr. Michael O'Connor and his wife, Meredith; her brothers and sisters in law, Michael Kanaly (Diane), Karen Lopez (Michael St. Louis), Mary Lou LaRocque and Larry Kanaly (Tammy) and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Colleen Kanaly and her nephew, Eric LaRocque. Pat was employed by CVES in Plattsburgh for 30 years, where she was a Teacher's Assistant. She loved her job and all the students she met along the way. Patrsquo's family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Barb Zuiderveld, for the loving companionship and care Barb provided, which allowed Pat to remain home through the end of her life. Services will be held on Thursday April 18th, 2024 from 12:00-2:00 with a service to follow in the funeral home chapel.
