Patricia A Leonard

Patricia A. Leonard, 72, of Hanover PA and formerly of Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Utz Terrace in Hanover, PA. She was born in Plattsburgh on March 22, 1951, the daughter of the late John and Shirley (Gioiosa) Leonard. She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, sister Christina (Leonard) Ransier and her husband Kenneth and brother Michael Leonard and his wife Karen.
Pat graduated from St. John’s Academy and Mater Dei College with an associate in arts in Religious Studies where she was elected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges 1993-94 and was inducted as a member of Phi Theta Kappa in 1993. She then attended the College of St. Rose in Albany NY graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She was employed as a manager for King’s Department Stores for many years.
Throughout her life she was faced with many physical challenges which she took on with determination and without complaint. She was unbelievably generous and was deeply spiritual. Over her lifetime she was a member of St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh, St Alexanders Church in Morrisonville where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and sacristan and finally St. Joseph Church in Hanover.
Pat loved her family and treasured her friends. She was also an animal lover and through the years provided a great home to Maggie, Muffin and Socks the kitty. In her later years birdwatching was a favorite pastime.
For those wishing to honor her life, in her memory consider performing an act of kindness whenever and wherever you can. Send a handwritten note or card to brighten someone’s day or to simply let them know you care. Call your loved ones, make someone a pot of soup, say thank you, forgive, keep a sparkle in your eyes and pray unceasingly for those in need. Offer a Mass for her or those with special needs. Know that this would have pleased her so very much.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 10, 2023 at 11 AM at St. John’s Church. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
