Patricia Mildred Maynard, née Prevost, died peacefully at CVPH on February 4, 2021 at the age of 88. Beloved daughter of the late Herwood and the late Loretta Prevost of Champlain; loving mother of Patricia Maynard, Mickey Maynard, and Mark ( Laurie); specially devoted aunt of Caroline (Dan) DiSante and Hannah (Ryan) Dermody; devoted grandmother of six; great-grandmother of three; sister of Ramona Harlem, the late Mary Lou ( the late James) Lynch, the late Sally (Lawerence) Ryan and Richard (Mary Ellen) Prevost; devoted aunt of 12 nieces and nephews. Patricia lived a very full life. She was a teacher of home economics and special needs students for many years. Pat taught in Ellenburg, Peru and ended her career at Plattsburgh High School. Pat was the owner of the Dallas Bar for four years. Pat then moved to Germany and worked as a teacher for the Department of Defense for 10 years. Pat lived very close to the German east/west border during a very exciting time in European history. When Pat returned to the area she assumed a very special role in the lives of Hannah and Caroline Lynch- a role she cherished. Pat spent many years with her beloved dog, Natalie, and continued to bowl and travel and shop into her later years. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a honest person who was not afraid to take chances, or express an opinion! In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Elmore SPCA, Peru, NY. There will be a memorial event with details to be announced. The family would like to thank the nurses and support staff of the 5th floor of CVPH. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY. (518) 561-3980. Online condolences may be offered at www.brownfuneralhomeinc.com
