Patricia M Ruffino

April 2, 1943 — August 5, 2023

Patricia M. Ruffino, “Pat”, 80, went to be with her soulmate, Al on August 5th 2023. She was born in Plattsburgh on April 2nd, 1943 to Alice and Harvey Prenoveau. She met and married her feisty Airman on November 19th, 1966, having 3 children through the years. She was an active participant in supporting of troops for Al’s deployment during Operation Desert Storm. She was always involved in her children’s activities and was in a bowling league with Al. She enjoyed a good meal, especially the dessert as she had a sweet tooth. She loved spending time with her family, playing Domino’s, Pinochle or teaching her grandchildren how to play Canasta. She was a whiz at doing puzzles and never missed watching an NFL football game, cheering for whichever color uniform she liked. Pat babysat in her home and eventually retired as a Teacher’s Aide from BOCES. Upon retirement Pat and Al moved to a Florida retirement community, spending summers in NY and NC with their children. During these times she participated in multiple 5K and 10K walks with her son, Andrew, winning for her age group twice. While in Florida they were involved in multiple volunteer organizations, performed in plays and traveled to various places, Alaska being her favorite. She was involved in the Quilting and Book Club and was always being asked to make her famous macaroni salad and michigan sauce for community BBQs. She thoroughly enjoyed reading and knitting/crocheting while always gifting her items to family and friends. She relocated back to NY after losing her husband to be closer to her children. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her parents, her love, Alfonso and her brother Ronald Prenoveau. She is survived by her children, Vitina Ruffino-Mosher (Jacque), Andrew Ruffino (Lorraine) and Daniel Ruffino, grandchildren, Nicholas (Samantha), Rebecca, (Nick), Sabrina, Brice, TJ, Ti, Sayge and Syerra, siblings, Joseph Prenoveau (Mona), Mary Weaver, Nancy Abbruzzi (Tony) and Judy Mitchell as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
