Patricia G. Welch, 94, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Sunday January 21, 2024 at her home with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh on May 24, 1929, daughter of Frank D. and Rosanna M. (Shear) Lanoue. Pat was a graduate of D’Youville Academy, class of 1946. She married Edsel J. Welch on September 15, 1951 in St. Peter’s Church. Pat had been employed by Scott Construction, Bailey Avenue School and Clinton County Office for Aging. She belonged to St. Peter’s Church, St. Peter’s Altar Rosary Society, St. Peter's Church Choir and was formerly a member of St. Augustine’s Church in Peru. Pat was a member of Champlain Valley Hospital Junior League. She was an avid crafter, doing craft shows from the 1970’s and enjoyed BINGO. Pat was a devoted mother and grandmother. Pat is survived by five children, John Welch of Lyon Mountain, Paul Welch of New Jersey, William Welch of Plattsburgh, Colleen Lafountain and her husband, Donald of Peru, Thomas Welch and Erin Morris of Keeseville, a daughter-in-law Mary Welch of Georgia, a sister-in-law Joan Plumadore and her husband Frederick of Clayburg several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by a sister, Edith Glenrose Lanoue, a brother, Frank J. Lanoue, a sister, Virginia Anderson of Plattsburgh, her husband, Edsel J. Welch in 2002 and her son Michael Welch in 2022. Calling hours will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 2, 2024 at 1:30 pm from St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations in Pat’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, St. Peter’s Church or Hospice of the North Country.
