Patti Rothermel-Dore, 49, of Bridgeport, Connecticut passed away on Tuesday January 12, 2010, at her home. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 29, 1960 the daughter of Donald and Veronica (LaJoie) Rothermel. Patti graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1978 and later graduated from the University of Bridgeport with honors with a degree in Paralegal. She volunteered in early 1990's for Domestic Violence in Plattsburgh. Patti then went on to become a Paralegal for the Law Firm of John Regan in Bridgeport, CT and most recently was an administrative assistant for Stamford Superior Court. She was a very artistic individual and an excellent seamstress. Patti had a great love for animals, horticulture and fashion. Patti was predeceased by her grandparents, Howard and Sally Rothermel and Nelson and Nellie LaJoie, three aunts; Valeda Shatraw, Theresa LaPointe and Aurore LaJoie and an uncle Lawrence LaJoie. She is survived by her parents, three children; Jason H. Nye and his wife Elena of Phoenix, AZ, Sean R. Nye of Stamford, CT and Riccarda M. Dore of Bridgeport, CT, two grandchildren; Alessandro Dore and Aidan Nye, a sister Peggy Rothermel and her husband Mark Neal of CA and their five children, three aunts; Rita Dugan of PA, Beverly LaJoie and Frances Latinville of Plattsburgh both of Plattsburgh, her mother in law Josephine Dore and many cousins also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Sunday January 17, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 18, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's of the Lake Church on Cumberland Head. Donations in Patti's memory maybe made to Domestic Violence, St. Mary's of the Lake Church, C/O Brown Funeral Home and Masses in her honor.
