Paul Anthony Driscoll, beloved husband, father and Papa, died peacefully Friday, January 17, 2025 from bladder cancer. He was 91. Paul was born on Oct. 4, 1933 and raised in raised in Elmhurst, Ill. He and his family moved to the North Country in 2023. A longtime reporter and editor for The Associated Press, Driscoll was a devout contrarian with Irish eyes and a wry smile. He’ll be remembered for his sense of humor, even keel and unflashy intelligence. Above all, he was the best life partner, dad and grandpa anyone could ask for. Paul is survived by his wife of 35 years, retired AP journalist Lindsey Tanner; son Ian; daughter-in-law Ayla Poovey, granddaughters Esme and Hadley Driscoll; his faithful Lab, Nina; two brothers and and many nieces and nephews. His son Daniel, died in 2019. A celebration of life is planned for later this year.
