Paul L. Hebert, 62, of Jersey Swamp Road, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Tuesday October 23, 2012 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 24, 1950 the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Cayea) Hebert. Paul attended St. Mary's Academy in Champlain, NY and later attended Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh. He worked at SUNY Plattsburgh for many years in the Buildings and Grounds Dept. before retiring in 1998. Paul was a member of the Knight of Columbus and enjoyed gambling at OTB and at the casino, where he was always a winner. He enjoyed collecting cars and spending time with his family, friends and visiting over a cold beer. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Jerry Hebert, two sisters; Jeannie Beach and June Naple and his best friend Brian Fountain. Paul is survived by his wife Mary Hebert of 42 years, they were married on May 31, 1970 in Champlain, a daughter Tina Cohen and her husband Jonathan of Mount Holly, VT, a grandson Joshua Cohen, three brothers; Arthur Hebert of FL, Donald Hebert of FL and Harland Hebert of West Chazy, a sister Joanne Hebert of FL, his mother-in-law Irene Marshall of Mooers Forks, a brother-in-law Roger Marshall of Mooers Forks, a special nephew Christopher Beach of Plattsburgh, his two dogs; Chevy and Thumper, several nieces and nephews also survive him. At Paul's request there will be no public calling hours, a graveside service will be held on Saturday October 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Champlain, NY. Donations in Paul's memory may be made to the Foundation of CVPH Medical Center or the Humane Society of One's Choice.
