Cumberland Head Mr. Paul J. Kyea, 82, formerly of Chenango Road, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by his side. He was born in Ausable Forks on November 4, 1933, the son of the late Jerry and Marie (Sawyer) Kyea. Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Montgomery Ward for several years and later was employed as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance in Plattsburgh for over 20 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's of the Lake Church where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Cumberland Head Council and was a past Grand Knight. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening He is survived by his children and their spouses; Kimberly and Reginald Norcross, Carrie Desilets, Matthew Kyea and companion Lita Sullivan, Deanna and Christian Winters of Chazy, his siblings and their spouses; Marvin and Pam Kyea, Marlene Kyea, Virginia Wray, Gertrude Klubertanz, Floyd Kyea, two sisters in law; Gail Kyea and Peggy Kyea, , his grandchildren; Joshua Blake, Jolinda Burgess, Jennifer McCasland, Sarah Norcross, Bethany McLean, Cory Gero, Bryce Winters, his great grandchildren; Grace, Anna, Kain, Noah, Jayden, Alex, Talan, Taylor, Rylie, Kendra, Aiden, Dakota, Austin and Brooklyn, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of over 56 years, Carolyn E. Kyea on November 12, 2015, his parents, his brothers an d sisters in law Wallace and Carolyn Kyea, Robert Kyea, Roger and Donna Kyea,Leonard Kyea, a sister Charlotte Kyea, and a grandson Matthew Kyea, Jr. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery on Cumberland Head. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the Alzheimers Assistance Center at PSUC or Clinton County Nursing Home.
