Plattsburgh Paul T. "Beaver" Mayette, 57, of Caroline Street, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Tuesday August 2, 2011 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on July 11, 1954 the son of Joseph and Marie (Healey) Mayette. Paul graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1973 and later Canton ATC with a degree in Culinary Arts in 1975. He was the chef at the Royal Savage Inn, Holiday Inn and the Elks Club. Paul retired from the New York State Department of Corrections as a Food Administrator at Clinton Correctional in Dannemora. Most recently he had been helping out at the V.F.W. and Can/Am Arena in Plattsburgh. Paul loved full moons, camp fires and being around the lake. He also enjoyed outdoor activities with his friends and family, watching the Yankee's, Ranger's, N.Y. Giants and playing his "Lucky 7-11" in the lottery. He was predeceased by his parents, his longtime companion, Kathy Lester and his father in law, William Lathrem. Paul is survived by his son William Mayette of Plattsburgh, a grandson, Ryland Joseph Mayette, a step son, Aaron Lester of Swanton, VT, his former wife Cynthia Lathrem of Plattsburgh, two brothers; David Mayette and his wife Susan of Beekmantown, John Mayette and his wife Cynthia of Plattsburgh, two sisters; Martha "Marcy" Lorry and her husband Steve of Plattsburgh and Eloise Samolis and her husband Vinnie of Cadyville, two aunts; Theresa Megargee of CT and Eleanor Mayette of Dannemora, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. His famous "Friends Forever" salute will be fondly remembered by his friends and family. He was a very gentle man with a big heart. Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 4, 2011 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Donation's in Paul's memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center, C/O Brown Funeral Home.
