Pauline F "Polly" Holmes

Pauline (Polly) F. Holmes, 91, of 17 Nichols Avenue, Plattsburgh passed away at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany on March 14, 2023 with her family at her side.

She was born in Moira, NY on April 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Neil and Doris (Orton) Flint. She graduated from Moira High School and the State University in Potsdam. Polly taught school at Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake Central School, Potsdam, and Plattsburgh City Schools. Retiring in 1995.

Polly was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Raymond Holmes , infant son Mark Robert, her brother Everett, her nephew Thomas Flint, and niece Allison Follett.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Lynne) of Niskayuna, NY, Stephen (Heather) of Salisbury, Maryland, and Lisa (Tony) Agresta of Cohoes, NY. And her seven grandchildren: James, Andrew, and Matthew Holmes from the Albany area, Lucas and Stephanie Holmes of Salisbury, Maryland, Ryan Mulson of Miami, Florida, Brendan Mulson of Albany, Gabby (Alex) and great grandson Caden Nanes of Augusta, Georgia, and Libby Agresta of Baltimore, Maryland.

Polly volunteered many years at the Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, and the Interfaith Food Shelf. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh and was quite active in the community. She enjoyed playing Bridge, Mah Jongg, Yahtzee, Words with Friends, Sorry with her grandchildren, traveling, and being with her family and friends.

The family would like to especially thank all the amazing people at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany the love and care they gave our mother at the end of her life.

Calling hours will be at Brown's Funeral Home on Saturday, March 18th at 4:00 - 6:00 PM. With a Memorial Service immediately following. Burial at St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date. Donations can be made at a Charity of Choice.
