Peggy Murphy

Peggy Murphy, 94, of Plattsburgh, NY passed away September 17, 2019 with her loving family by her side at UVHN-CVPH Medical Center. She was born on January 4, 1925 in Plattsburgh, NY to Charles and Mae (Thompson) Ward.
Peggy graduated from Plattsburgh High School and was the eldest graduate of her class at Clinton Community College where she was Class Marshall. She worked in the Guidance Department at Plattsburgh High School until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling. In her free time, she often sewed, completed needle work, and loved reading and crossword puzzles.
She is predeceased by her parents and her husband Bernard F. Murphy, Jr., and her sister Doris Pidgeon.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Kevin and Jeannine Murphy, Shane and Diane Murphy, Colleen and Kenneth Hynes, and Shannon and Denis Mousseau, all of Plattsburgh, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, her siblings; Phyllis (Clarence) Molisani, Charlene Tricarico, Dennis (Edie) Ward, and Ginny (Dennis) Mooney, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Church. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
