Ralph Senecal Jr., 85, of Treadwell Mills, passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2018, surrounded by his devoted family who held his hand as he took his last breath. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Sr. and Agnes (Rock), his son, Ralph III, his beloved wife June (LePage), his grandson Adam Gregoire; three brothers: Donald, Arthur and Larry Senecal and two sisters: Miriam (Hurley) and Joyce (Branham) Ralph was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 10, 1933. He attended a one-room schoolhouse located on Hammond Lane. Ralph obtained his electrical certificate from Cornell University in 1973 to become a work foreman. He apprenticed many electrical candidates. Ralph was in the Army from 1953-1955 and was assigned to the 522d Infantry Battalion at Fort Sill in Oklahoma where he was trained as an infantry rifleman achieving the rank of Sgt. Ralph is survived by his children and their spouses: Tim Senecal, Randy and Deborah Senecal, Carroll Bordeau, Holly and Eric Scott, Colleen and Andrew Bromsey, Mary and Guy Mulder, Hope Senecal, and Tracey and Robert Blauser. His grandchildren: Marnie, Margaret, Timothy, Tyler, Kelly, Lewis, Matthew, Abbygail, Mickaela, Emma, Samuel. His great-grandchildren: Madison, Allison, Gavin and Kathryn. Ralph enjoyed playing pool, throwing horseshoes, and bowling. He tinkered constantly and rebuilt antique cars from gutted frames including a 1939 Chevy coupe. He was an avid year-round fisherman, frequently fishing with his brothers. His wife June would fry his bounty in the pan. He was a man of few words but countless faces. He enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour and Zane Gray western novels; he also enjoyed watching old western movies and series. Ralph had a very witty sense of humor, and was referred to as The Philosopher by many. Ralph worked for William J. Murray Electric for many years, and was a 60-year member of IBEW Local 781. Above all, Ralph was deeply devoted to his family. Calling hours will be Friday, November 16, at Brown Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on November 17 at St. Peter's Church at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Alexander/St. Joseph Soup Kitchen, stalexanders.org.
