Plattsburgh Mr. Randy E. Duprey, 26, of Plattsburgh, New York passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with Scleroderma. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on November 4, 1982 the son of Randy and Debra (Frenia) Duprey. Randy graduated from Peru Central School in 2001 and later became a Correction Officer with the New York State Department of Corrections at Clinton Correctional Facility. He married his wife Kate (Munson) Duprey on September 22, 2007. Randy was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. His greatest joy though, was being a stay at home dad, caring for his 18 month old son Alek with his wife Kate. Randy was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Edmund Frenia and his great grandparents; Edward and Mildred Duprey and Viola and Lawrence Avery. He is survived by his wife Kate (Munson) Duprey of Plattsburgh, a son Alek Edward Duprey at home, his parents Randy and Debra (Frenia) Duprey of Peasleeville, NY, a brother Kevin Duprey of Plattsburgh, NY, his paternal grandparents; Ronald and Frances Duprey of Saranac, NY, his maternal grandmother Martha Frenia of Peasleeville, NY, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Daniel and Brenda (Rock) Munson of Plattsburgh, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Daniel and Shelley (Cane) Munson of Plattsburgh, a nephew Keegan Munson, his niece and goddaughter Kayne Munson. Randy is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and his canine companions; Hank and Cash. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will follow at St. Matthews Cemetery in Black Brook, New York. A reception will follow at the American Legion in Ausable Forks. In lieu flowers friends wishing may make donations in Randy's name to a college fund for his son Alek, c/o Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
