Raymond Devins

Raymond "Ray" Devins, 83, of LaPlante Road, West Chazy, NY passed on Tuesday March 13, 2012 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on July 18, 1928 the son of Clifford and Julsina (Dupra) Devins. Raymond worked for New York Telephone as a lineman and installer before retiring in 1983. He was a charter member of the Moose Lodge in Plattsburgh and Beekmantown Get Together Club. Raymond enjoyed watching wrestling on television, camping with his family, bird watching and his cat "Piper". He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Aubin) Devins, his second wife Esther Devins and two brothers; Arthur and Charles Devins. Raymond is survived by seven children; Mary Garcia and her husband Fernando of San Antonio, TX, Louella "Lou" Bordeau and her husband Rodney of Beekmantown, Raymond Devins and his fiancé Sherl Drollette of Plattsburgh, Audrey Munson and her husband Richard of Chazy, Alfred Devins and his wife Lynn of Plattsburgh, Gordon Devins and his wife Tanya of West Chazy and John Devins and his wife Sue of Plattsburgh, three stepchildren; Rosemary Sterbenz and her companion Richard Feleppa of Livingston, NY, Donna Critchley and her companion Andrew "Joel" Ring of South Glens Falls and Alexander "Pat" Meshefsky and his wife Helene of Chazy, a daughter-in-law Cathy Devins of Chazy, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 15, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Friday March 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, burial will be later in the year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
