Regina B Allen

Regina B. Allen, 88, of Saranac, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born in Saugerties, NY on February 5, 1930 the daughter of Lewis and Katherine (Kraus) Robinson. Regina (or Jean, or "Beema") graduated from Albany Teachers College in 1952 and later received her Masters degree from St. Lawrence University. She began her teaching career in Saranac, first as a Latin teacher, then French, then English, then American History, where she served as Social Studies Department Chair for many years and retired in 1985. Regina served as the Superintendent of the Saranac United Methodist Church Sunday School throughout the 1970's and 80's, and was an active member of the UMW, Scholarship Committee, and other Church groups for many years. Regina will be well remembered for her outgoing personality, great sense of humor, and love for life, especially for her family. She cherished telling stories of "the old days" and being with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 51 years Carlton Dale Allen, her sister Lois Goff, and her daughter Marlene Lois (Allen) Racette. Regina is survived by her daughter Deborah and son-in-law Nick Carter, son Mark and daughter-in-law Lori, son Scott, daughter Carolyn and son-in-law Ronnie Spear, daughter Michelle Gokey and Damon Penney, granddaughter Nicole Carter, grandson Matthew Carter, granddaughter Jessica Allen, grandson Adam Spear, granddaughter Katelyn Gokey, granddaughter Olivia Allen, grandson Christopher Allen, grandson Jacob Spear, grandson Landon Gokey, six great-grandchildren, her beloved niece Cheryl Fitzsimmons and nephew Michael Goff, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. In consideration of the many relatives and friends far away, the family is holding a celebration of life service for this very special woman on May 18, 2018 so that all may attend.
