Reginald D. “Reggie” Dermody, 83, of Morisonville, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Essex Center. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on November 4, 1935 the son of Edward and Christiana (Trombly) Dermody.
He was an avid country music lover; singing and playing his guitar. Reg served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a skilled builder; building their home, clocks, Adirondack chairs and many decorations. He retired as a Zone Sergeant from New York State Police after 25 years and was the Under Sherriff of Russell Trombley and John “Jack” Lawliss for 15 years. He was member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion #1619, and the Elk’s Club. He served his community as Supervisor for the Town of Schuyler Falls.
He is predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Dellas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia, his children; Kim Lamotte, Terrianne Pavone and her husband Glenn, Regina McKinnon and her husband Michael, Andrea Moore and her husband Chris, Edward Dermody and his fiancé Jamie LaFountain, his grandchildren; Nicholas, Christiana, Aaron, Levi, Anna, Michael, Jeffrey, Kelly, his great-grandchildren; Blair, Chloe, Clemy, Haley, Tyler, Emily, Alivia, and Anna, and his beloved canine companion Addie.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 3:00-5:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
