Rena C. Willett, 86, formerly of Route 22, Beekmantown, entered into eternal life, Thursday February 18, 2021 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with her loving family by her side. She was born in Mooers Forks, NY on March 4, 1934 the daughter of Victor and Eliza (Lafountain) Gero. Rena graduated from Mooers High School, Class of 1951. She married Daniel Willett on May 5, 1954 at St. Ann’s Church in Mooers Forks. Rena retired from Plattsburgh Air Force Base as a civilian employee after thirty five years of service. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, flower gardening, camping, baking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Rena was predeceased by her parents, her husband Daniel and thirteen siblings.
She is survived by four daughters; Sharon Watkins and her husband Phillip of Plattsburgh, Bonnie Sponable of Plattsburgh, Judy Fitzpatrick and her husband Dean of Riesel, Texas, Diane Masella of Champlain, her grandchildren; Nathan Birkemeyer and his fiancé Jessica Orak, Corey Birkemeyer and his wife Katie, Hillary Sponable and her husband Michael Akey, Alex Willett and their partner Evan Hubbard, Daniel Fitzpatrick and his husband Joshua, Krista Kaloides and her husband Chad, three great grandchildren; Alayna, Sutton and Declan, several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Due to the pandemic there will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date and will be announced at St. Ann’s Church, Mooers Forks.
Interment will be at a later date at St. Ann’s Cemetery Mooers Forks, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
