Richard G Brannen

Plattsburgh Richard G. Brannen, 74 of Firefox Drive, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Monday April 13, 2009 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by his family. He was born in Great Falls, SC on December 5, 1934 the son of John Ralph and Myrtle Eunola (Duke) Brannen. Richard was a 22 year veteran of the United States Air Force after retiring from the Air Force he worked 24 years as a Technical Writer for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT a division of United Technologies, before moving to Plattsburgh, NY to be closer to his family. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Richard was predeceased by his parents and a brother Ronald Warren Brannen of South Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Gloria (Baker) Brannen. Four sons; Richard Gordon Brannen of FL, Michael Dean Brannen and his wife Karen of Plattsburgh, NY, John Clifford Brannen and his wife Lorri of Illinois and James Devron Brannen and his wife Tina of NC. Eight grandchildren; Annmarie, Jason, Joshua, Amanda, Matthew, Melissa, Devron, Mackenzie, and a great grandson, Zachary. Two brothers; John Ralph Brannen and his wife Debbie and David Gene Brannen and his wife Joyce all of SC. Calling hours will be held on Friday April 17, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday April 18, 2009 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday from the funeral home chapel. Donations in Richard's Memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
