Morrisonville, N.Y. Mr. Richard S. Haupt, 77, of Barcomb Avenue in Morrisonville, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Rochester, N.Y. on July 19, 1931, the son of Fredric and Dorothy (Bingham) Haupt. He was a 1953 graduate of Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont with a B.S. degree in civil engineering and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1972 with a Masters Degree in structures and soils. He was an adjunct professor at Norwich University from 1980 to 1992. He was a dedicated husband , father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed canoeing, hiking, camping and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn H. Haupt of Morrisonville, sons Steven and wife Eileen, Fritz-Jon and wife Monique, daughters Karen Boyce and husband James, Deborah Carling and husband Douglas, a sister Mary Stuart and husband Dr. Bruce Stuart, 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. He was predeceased by his parents and his stepmother, Eleanor West Haupt. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 34 Brinkerhoff Street in Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund at the above address.
