Richard S Thew Sr

Plattsburgh Mr. Richard S. Thew, Sr., 78, formerly of Harland Drive in Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. He was born in Peru on November 10, 1932, the son of the late John and Bernice Thew. Richard was an Electrical Inspector for many years and was a HAM Radio Operator for many years and was a member of the Champlain Valley Amateur Radio Club. He is survived by two daughters; Regina and Richard Devins of Plattsburgh, Paula and Dennis Giddings of Altona, two brothers; John and Peggy Thew of Plattsburgh, David and Emily Thew of Plattsburgh, two sisters; Joan Snide of Plattsburgh, Barbara Whittington of Schuyler Falls, ; several grandchildren including Heather McLean and fiancé Ryan Chapple , John and Danielle Thew, all of West Chazy, Denise Giddings, Charlie Giddings and Krista Giddings, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His wife Christine Thew passed away in 2007. In accordance with Richard's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
