Rickford "Rick" G Blake

Rickford G. Blake, 67, of Plattsburgh passed away, Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, on March 10, 1954 the son of Donald “Benny” and Ruth (Giguere) Blake.
Rick graduated from Beekmantown High School in 1972. He was an avid sports fan, once trying out for the Montreal Expos following high school; he later could be found cheering and attending New York Giants games as well as watching NASCAR. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, playing horseshoes or cornhole. Rick loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, Maine and Outer Banks to be near the ocean. Rick enjoyed going to concerts with his wife Teri. He often could be found testing his luck going to the casino with his close friends: Rod, Mel and Lisa or playing poker with the Southeast Connection Gang at Twin Ells Campground. He had a sweet-tooth, enjoying his York Peppermint Patties and getting ice-cream with his grandchildren. He loved his family and grandchildren above anything else.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Teri, his children; Jeremy Blake, Travis Stone (Bridget), Benjamin Blake (Jessica), Taylor Stone (Heather), Jebadiah Blake (Samantha), his grandchildren; Aidan, Kellen, Devin, Kali, Christian, Tyler, Madison, Brady, Alexis, Barrett, Jasper, Emma, Sawyer, and Ellie, his siblings; Cathy Pellerin (Edmond), Donald Blake (Chris), his mother and father-in-law Donald and Janet Rabideau, his brothers-in-law, Gary Rabideau (Lisa), Donnie Rabideau (Iris), David Rabideau, many nieces, nephews, God-Children, and his dogs Dayzee and Crockett.
He is predeceased by his parents, his sister, Cindy Blake, his nephew Eric Pellerin and his beloved canine, Mitzi.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 4:00pm.
The family would like to thank Dr. Garrand and Dr. Gauthier, UVM-CVPH ER and ICU teams over the years, Dr. Brundage of UVM, especially Dr. Pelton for all his care and friendly football banter, “2 Superbowl Rings”
