Silver Lake Mr. Ricky L. Parrotte, 49, of Silver Lake Road in Clayburg, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Plattsburgh on May 3, 1959, the son of Wilfred and Marie (Betters) Parrotte. He was a 1977 graduate of AuSable Valley Central School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979 to 1985 as a Security Police Officer at both Seymour Johnson AFB and later at Plattsburgh AFB . Later, he served in the Reserves. He graduated from Clinton Community College. He was a Prudential Insurance agent from 1985 to 1999 and was currently employed as a sales manager for Jancy Engineering of Iowa. He was a member of American Legion Post 1618 in Redford. He enjoyed working in the woods, riding his motorcycle, boating on Chazy Lake, snowmobiling and working with his tractor. He is survived by his wife, Karen (Sgroi) Parrotte of Silver Lake whom he married in 1979, his two sons , Nicholas and Danielle (Coarding) Parrotte of Schenectady, Ryan Parrotte and his companion Tisha Surprenant of Mooers, and his faithful friend "Boomer". He is also survived by a sister and brother in law- Bonnie and Patrick Allen of Silver Lake, his aunt Rose Sheffield of Ausable Forks, several nieces and nephews, and a brother and sister in law- Wilfred V "Willie" and Joyce Parrotte of Redford. His father passed away in 1999 and his mother passed away in 2000. A brother Harold passed away as a child. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 1 pm from the Church of the Assumption in Redford.
