Rita M Kemp-Carter

Rita M. Kemp-Carter, of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the age of 85 at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her family by her side. She was born on Monday, February 6, 1939 in St. Fidele, New Brunswick. Rita worked as a Department Manager at Walmart in Plattsburgh for many years. Rita was predeceased by her parents, Matias and Adeline Paradis, her first husband James Kemp Sr., and her 2nd husband, Leon Carter Sr. She is survived by her children; James Jr. (Dawn), Albert (Mary), Keith (Shirley), Russell, Kenny (Snow), Danny (Denise) Kemp, 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, her siblings; Marcel, Gerald, and Gabby, and many nieces and nephews. Callings hours will be on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 3:00-6:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 2, at 10:00am at St. Augustine's Church. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Arrangements for Rita M. Kemp-Carter are being provided by Brown Funeral Homes in Plattsburgh. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
