Morrisonville Mrs. Rita R. Rock, 75, of Rand Hill Road, Morrisonville passed away Tuesday November 18, 2008 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont. She was born in Champlain, New York on September 14, 1933 the daughter of Albert and Rose (Duquette) Lafountain. She married her husband Norman Rock on May 5, 1955. Rita worked for many years at Budget Beauty Salon at the North Country Shopping Center and later at Hairtage Salon on Weed Street in Plattsburgh. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting dolls for which she won numerous Blue Ribbons at the Clinton County Fair. Rita was a member of the Busy B's, the Red Hat Society, Mooers Fellowship Club in Mooers and St. Peter's Church. She enjoyed dining out with her lunch bunch every Friday. Rita also enjoyed traveling, having visited New York City, Hawaii, Branson, Missouri and Europe. She was a kind and gentle person and was the glue that bound her family together. Her gentle smile and her sweet disposition will always be remembered. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Rose (Duquette) Lafountain. Rita is survived by her husband Norman Rock of Morrisonville, one son Daniel Rock and his wife Carol of Peru and their children Christopher, Matthew and Nicholas, two daughters; Deborah Giuliano and her husband Thomas of Montreal, P.Q. and their children Joseph and Alessandra and Jane Empie of Raleigh, N.C. She is also survived by one sister Maria Suprenant and her husband Germaine of Champlain, a brother Maurice Lafountain and his wife Linda of Plattsburgh, two nieces and two nephews. Calling Hours will be on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh with Rev. John Yonkovig, Pastor, presiding. Burial will be at St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville. Donations in the memory of Rita R. Rock may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, .
