Robert J Barber

Robert J Barber, 86, of Beekmantown, passed away November 10, 2018 at home surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 12, 1932 the son of Robert and Wilma (Desso) Barber. Bobby, as he was known by his family and friends, retired from the Imperial Mill with 47 years of service and served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. When he wasn't working he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and most of all riding his motorcycle. Left to cherish the memory of Bobby are his wife of 66 years, Doris (Spooner), his son's Keith and Flo Barber, Curtis Barber, Michael and Teri Barber and Donald Barber and Anna Laber, his grandchildren: Tracey and Rick Duprey, Christina and Dave Velie, Jeanna Barber and companion Dan, Tonia Barber, Nathaniel Barber, DJ Barber, Corey Barber, Kelly Barber and companion Gage and 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Roland, his sister Beverly Everhart, mother-in-law Georgianna Spooner, daughter-in-law Pamela Barber and his grandson Curtis Barber Jr. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 14, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow in St. Peter's cemetery.
