Robert D Bird

Cadyville Mr. Robert D. "Bob" Bird, 70, of the Goddeau Road, Cadyville, New York passed away, Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vermont. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on January 31, 1940 the son of Dennis J. and Irma (Kenny) Bird. Bob owned and operated Kitchen Character in Plattsburgh and later retired from Gregory Supply Company where he designed kitchens. He was a former member of the Plattsburgh Lions Club. Bob was a Eucharistic Minister to the home bound in Cadyville. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother James Bird. Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years Carolyn (Buck) Bird of Cadyville, one son Brandon Bird of Plattsburgh, two daughters Meeghan Bird Matarazzo and her husband TJ of South Hero, Vermont, Briana Bird of Mallets Bay, Vermont, two sisters Mary DeGroot and Carita Bird both of Asheville, North Carolina, three grandchildren, Lucia, Rafaella and Amadeo Bird Matarazzo, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Church, Plattsburgh, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.
