Robert "Rory" Boire, 64, of Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024. He was born in Plattsburgh on October 7, 1959. Rory graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1979 and soon after enlisted in the United States Marine Corps., proudly serving his country until being honorably discharged in 1983 and continued serving with the Reserves until 1985. He joined the reserves again and was active duty from 2001 to 2003 supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Rory was a corrections officer at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, retiring in 2016. Over the years he also drove truck. Rory was a former member of the Beekmantown Fire Dept., Chazy Fire Dept. and a current member of the Cumberland Head Fire Dept. He was a member of VFW Post 1466 and served as Commander and also served on the Board of the Peru Rod and Gun Club and served as an EMT. In his retirement he enjoyed woodturning and riding his motorcycle. Rory was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth and step father Orville Favreau. He is survived by his wife Tina, a son Ryan Boire and daughter Jessica Boire, a step son James Bouyea, several grandchildren, his siblings; Ron Boire and his wife Faith, Dames Boire and his wife Kimberly and Alex Boire and his wife Lisa, a cousin Dan Noonan who was like a brother to Rory, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Monday January 8, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Inurnment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Donations in Rory's memory may be made to the Cumberland Head Fire Dept. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
