Plattsburgh Mr. Robert C. "Popeye" "Pie" Burdo, 79, formerly of Hendrix Road, Cadyville, NY and most recently Pine Harbour passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Pine Harbour. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on December 10, 1933 the son of Lester and Elsie (Bourdeau) Burdo. Bob graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy Class of 1953. He worked at Rosebud Creamery as a route salesman and later as a supervisor from 1957-1962. In 1962, he worked at Lavin Candy Co. until 1978 when he went to work at Clinton Correctional in Dannemora, NY in the Powerhouse as a Stationary Engineer retiring in 1996. Bob married Patricia Chamberlain on May 15, 1954 at St. Peter's Church. He enjoyed fishing and he was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob was a member of St. James Church in Cadyville. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Patricia Burdo, his brothers; Lindsley, Arnold, Joseph and Loyal, his sisters; Shirley Forgette, Vanessa Racette and Gwen Reed. Bob is survived by his three sons; Glenn R. Burdo and his wife Jamie (Lawliss) of West Chazy, Charles J. Burdo of Littleton, CO, Neil R. Burdo of Plattsburgh, three daughters; Brenda Smith and her husband Bradley of Keeseville, Mary (Burdo) Pray of Plattsburgh, Darlene Egan and her husband Robert of Plattsburgh, his brother; Reginald Burdo of West Chazy, his sisters; Carmen Panton of Plattsburgh, June Durnil and Ola Hawk both of California, his sister-in-law Agnes Drury of Gillette, Wyoming, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Church, Cadyville. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Alexander's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to Pine Harbour or Hospice of the North Country.
