Plattsburgh Mr. Robert Leon "Jake" Covel, Sr., 82, formerly of the Salmon River Road and most recently Evergreen Valley Nursing Home passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at the UVHN-CVPH Medical Center. He was born in on February 12, 1933 the son of Fred and Chestine Daniels. Jake was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked at Peru Central School and delivered the Press Republican. Jake enjoyed watching television, taking car rides and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Florence, his siblings; Ruth Lucia, Kenneth Covel, Catherine Covel and Francis Covel. Jake is survived by his children; Robert Covel and his wife Elizabeth of Arizona, Anthony Arena of Plattsburgh, Elizabeth Hatchet of Plattsburgh, Robert Dean Covel and his wife Laurie of Glens Falls, Rose Covel of Plattsburgh, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, October 12, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Peaseleeville Cemetery.
