Robert M. “Bob” Duquette, 87 of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away peacefully Monday, October 9th, 2023, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh.  He was born on Dec. 19th, 1935, the son of Herbert and Mary (Guyette) Duquette.

Robert (Bob) grew up on South Catherine Street in Plattsburgh and attended Our Lady of Victory Academy.  In July of 1956, he married Phyllis A. King at Our Lady of Victory Church.  As a young man Bob worked at Coca Cola for many years, starting out as a truck driver and working his way up to plant supervisor.  Later he and his four brothers together joined the Carpenters Local 1042.  In 1964, he started and was owner of Duquette Brothers Construction where he worked alongside his wife and two of his brothers.  Bob has remained a prominent hardworking businessman in the local community ever since.  In addition to dedicating his life to raising a beautiful family and owning a successful business, he was a member of The Plattsburgh Elks Lodge, a 4th degree member of The Knights of Columbus, a member of The Plattsburgh Kiwanis Club and a member of The Champlain Valley Builders Exchange.

He is survived by his three daughters and their spouses, Deanna (Bruce) Barbell of Morrisonville, Annette (Tyler) Smith of Dannemora, and Michelle (James) Lucas of California; five grandchildren Matthew (Lauren) Barbell, Alanna (Will) Thouin, Jacqueline (Keith) Litts, Jaden Lucas and Emily Lucas; as well as five great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years Phyllis, his parents and four brothers Donald, Gerald, Kenneth, and Ralph.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 20th, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, NY. A funeral service will follow at 6:00pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be Monday, October 23rd, 2023, at 11:00am at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
