Robert J Gosselin

Robert J. Gosselin, age 88, of Patriot Drive, Plattsburgh, formerly of Saranac, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2023. He was born on March 6, 1935, the son of the late Gordon and Hazel Gosselin.

Robert was a member of the first graduating class at Saranac Central High School. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Air Force. Upon discharge from the military, he was employed as a correction officer for 31+ years, retiring from Clinton Annex in 1990.

Robert was a devoted father and husband. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice (DuBrey) and his daughters, Sharyl Gosselin of Madison, WI, Angela Provost (Carl), of Richmond Hill, GA, Susan Gosselin of Wynantskill, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bryan Martin, Christopher and Nicholas Clickner, Kevin Provost and Victoria Rowden, as well as ten great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother-in-law Ronald DuBrey (Karen), sister-in-laws Judy Cayea and Liz DuBrey as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Julie Gosselin as well as his brother-in-law, Leonard DuBrey.

He enjoyed traveling, especially road trips across the United States with his wife. He was a master fly tyer in his day and enjoyed teaching his girls how to fish. It was a true work of art to watch his cast dance across the water.
